Safety is our priority!

Be careful and stay alert near a tramway. Our recommendations to avoid accidents:

THE TRAM TRACK IS FOR TRAMS ONLY
Placed at the entrances to tram tracks, this sign reminds us that it is strictly forbidden to enter the tramway platform, whether to drive or park. It is like a strict no-entry zone, as the tramway track is reserved exclusively for trams.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS
I FOLLOW THE STANDARD TRAFFIC LIGHTS FOUND AT MOST INTERSECTIONS
Most intersections with tramway platforms are controlled by standard traffic lights, which must be obeyed by all: motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

TRAVERSING THE TRAM PLATFORM
THE TRAM PLATFORM IS NOT A WALKING AREA
If you need to cross it, use designated crossings and make sure the track is clear. Do not run across the rails and always look carefully to the right and left before stepping onto the platform. When pedestrian signals are present, only cross when the light is green. Avoid using your phone, listening to music, or being distracted near the platform so you can hear an approaching tram, especially its bell. Umbrellas, hoods, and hats can reduce your field of vision. Stay alert! Never cross behind a tram—another tram may be coming!

BICYCLES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PLATFORM
Use bike lanes and paths, which are increasingly available throughout the city. If you must cross the tram platform, use the designated crossings and cross perpendicularly to the tracks to avoid your wheels getting stuck and causing a fall.

WHEN TURNING, MAKE SURE THE TRAM IS NOT IN YOUR BLIND SPOT
In some short sections, the tramway shares its lane with buses or other vehicles (cars, bicycles, scooters). This is another reason to stay extra vigilant.

TRAM PASSENGERS
Hold onto handrails or sit down before the tram starts moving, as emergency braking can occur at any moment.
